At A Star Is Rising Early Learning Center, we recognize the seriousness of severe allergies and are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all children. While we are not an allergy-free center, we work closely with parents, staff, and students to ensure the well-being of children with allergies through education, awareness, and precautionary measures.
When a child with a severe allergy enrolls, we take proactive steps to inform and educate our community, including parents, staff, and classmates, about the allergy, its warning signs, and the necessary response procedures.
Emergency Preparedness: EpiPens are stored in a designated emergency box within the child’s classroom.
Visual Reminders: Clearly posted allergy alerts help staff remain vigilant.
Classroom & Common Area Listings: The child’s name and allergy details are displayed in classrooms and shared spaces.
Parental Communication: Families receive a detailed allergy information letter outlining symptoms and emergency protocols.
Dedicated Allergy-Free Table: A clearly marked allergy-free table is designated for children with dietary restrictions.
Food Safety Measures: No food is shared, and all labels are reviewed with the child’s parent for approval before being distributed in class.
Through ongoing communication and shared responsibility, we prioritize the safety and comfort of all children with allergies.
